As an active Hospitalist, Board Certified physician in Internal Medicine, Dr. Karthik Ramakrishan brings leadership and hands-on experience to his position as Chief Executive Officer of PeachTree Inpatient Consulting. Dr. Ramakrishnan co-founded PeachTree because of his desire to build and manage a successful business focusing on hospitalist management. He has worked with and led nearly one hundred hospitalist providers and continues to practice as a Hospitalist in PeachTree’s programs.


Dr. Ramakrishnan’s dedication to each member of his hospitalist group is his core value. Prior to founding PeachTree, Dr. Ramakrishnan developed a multi-state hospitalist division for Wellmont Health System where he served as medical director, recruited countless physicians, and supervised over 50 healthcare providers. Prior to his time with Wellmont, Dr. Ramakrishnan served as the Associate Medical Director for a hospitalist start-up company, Kingsport Consultants, as well as a regional Project Group Leader for a nationally branded hospitalist company where he supported and led 15 providers.

Dr. Ramakrishnan completed his Internal Medicine training at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. As an Associate Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine for The West Virginia Osteopathic School of Medicine, in Lewisburg, West Virginia, he has mentored numerous medical student rotations. In addition to his academic and professional career, Dr. Ramakrishnan is extremely active in charity work. He has led relief missions to help those affected by the tsunami disaster of 2004 as well as Hurricane Katrina. During these missions, Dr. Ramakrishnan led teams of physicians into the affected areas to provide medical assistance to those in need. During this process, he started a relief foundation to collect donations from churches and hospitals, allowing him to purchase and distribute medicine as well as design mobile health units that have treated

thousands of people.
